SERVICES

MRD empowers landowners to elevate the natural health, beauty, and functionality of their property’s aquatic resources. Our work enhances financial value while expanding opportunities to recreate on and enjoy the landscape.

As expert consultants and contractors, we combine a deep understanding of hydrology and aquatic ecosystems with technical construction knowledge and permitting expertise to successfully restore waterways, create world class fisheries, and protect natural habitat.

We customize every detail of our work to support our clients’ vision and lifestyles while tending to the near-term and lasting needs of the living landscape.

BRING OUR EXPERTISE TO YOUR LIVING, THRIVING LANDSCAPE

We begin each project by walking the site. Request a consult with MRD to start the conversation about taking your property’s water features and trophy fish habitat to their fullest potential.

OUR PROCESS

From concept to creation, MRD works closely with the landowner to ensure complete continuity between design and build. Phase I incorporates relevant data from survey, soil pits, monitoring wells, flood modeling, and other comprehensive due diligence, and closely engages the landowner every step of the way to find budget conscious solutions that enhance the resource, property value, and ownership experience.

Given our design build approach, phase II isn’t simply when the equipment shows up and we break ground, but an additional opportunity to integrate value engineering and adaptive management strategies - resulting in a better finished product. With MRD, the design phase doesn’t end until the equipment is demobilized, the final iteration of all ideations come to tangible fruition, and the project is complete.

Phase 1:

DUE DILIGENCE + DESIGN

  • A combination of boots-on-the-ground investigation, thorough research of the ecological, historical, and legal requirements and possibilities, and vision-boarding conversations with clients and MRD team.

  • A comprehensive, collaborative process of design and engineering, incorporating line-item project costs and the practicalities of successful construction.

  • We have years of familiarity with regulations and special requirements necessary to successfully navigate the details of complex regulatory and permitting compliance necessary for self-managed construction.

Phase 2:

IMPLEMENTATION + RECLAMATION

  • For a decade and a half, MRD has developed and refined state-of-the-art bioengineering stream and riparian habitat construction techniques which we incorporate on channel reconstruction projects ranging from spring creeks to large rivers.

  • Leaning into our stewardship role, the next step in our work supports the improved state of the land and waters of a project site, as well as its vegetation. Carefully implementing time-proven and project-specific restoration techniques, we create desirable conditions, both ecologically and aesthetically, for the benefit of both recreating landowners and native wildlife.
